WORKLOAD CREDIT FOR CHAIR OF THE FACULTY SENATE
The chair of the Faculty Senate will receive a total of 12 workload credits as assigned time for administrative activities over the course of the academic year (fall, spring, and summer). The workload is typically distributed as three credits in fall, three credits in spring, and six credits in summer and documented with the administrative activity adjustment workload code. The distribution of this release will be negotiated with the affected department chair or school director subject to approval by the provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs (EVPAA).
The president, following the annual Senate elections by the colleges and the appointment of the second member for each college representative each April, will select a chair of the Faculty Senate, who will serve a one-year renewable term and inform the appropriate departmental chair in a timely manner of the identity of the new Senate chair so that necessary adjustments to the upcoming class schedule and workload can be made. A copy of this appointment memorandum will be sent to the appropriate college dean and to the provost and EVPAA.
