AA/PPS 02.04.01 - Faculty Service Awards

POLICY STATEMENT

Texas State University is committed to providing recognition to faculty for their distinguished services and contributions.

1. DESCRIPTION OF YEARS OF SERVICE AWARDS

   1. A Faculty Awards ceremony will be held annually to express appreciation to all academic personnel holding a faculty rank who have served the university through cumulative employment for a minimum of 20 years. Colleges may determine how and when they recognize faculty celebrating 10 or 15 years.

   2. The awards will be given in five-year increments beginning with 10 years.

   3. The Office of Presidential Events and Projects will order and purchase all pins and certificates for honorees.

2. * PROCEDURES FOR IDENTIFYING ELIGIBLE HONOREES

   1. In early spring semester, Faculty and Academic Resources will forward a list of faculty members eligible for service awards to the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, as well as deans and chairs/directors.

   2. The Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs will supply college deans with appropriate certificates and pins for faculty honorees with 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service.

   3. College deans will notify faculty honorees.
